Dear all, This is a preliminary announcement of a meeting of the UK Metric Geometry & Analysis Network, taking place from Monday, 13 July, until Friday, 17 July, in Durham. In particular, we are excited that we will have a number of speakers with expertise in metric geometry and analysis visiting from Japan. More details will be provided in due course, but we felt it was important to announce the meeting already so that you can add it to your calendars. We hope that as many of you as possible will be able to attend. There will be some funding available to help with the travel costs of network members, if necessary. Moreover, we hope that we will be able to avail of Durham's on-campus housing, which should help to keep travel costs down. Programme Duration: 2-month fixed period from 15 June through to 25 August 2026 Closing Date for Applications: Wednesday 22nd October 2025 at 09:00 (am) UK time Outline of the Programme: The JSPS Summer Programme Fellowship offers the opportunity for pre/postdoctoral researchers to receive an orientation on Japanese language and culture and research systems as well as pursue research under the guidance of host researchers at Japanese universities and research institutes over a period of two months during the summer. We are writing to advertise the 3rd meting of the UK Metric Geometry & Analysis Network, which will take place at St. Hilda’s college, University of Oxford, on Wednesday April 16, 2025. Organised by Mattia Magnabosco and myself. Accommodation Participants (coming from outside Oxford) are offered the opportunity to spend the night before the event at St Hilda's College.
