Hi everyone,
As you may be aware, following the recent fire alarm we discovered the HF sensors, though
still working when the engineer tested and calibrated them last Thursday, are coming to
the end of their life. As we can not have complete confidence in them, all HF work must
stop until the sensors are replaced in the new year. The CELTIC clean labs will still be
open for non-HF chemistry.
I will let you know when we expect the sensors to be replaced once I have more info from
the contractor/Estates.
In the interim, the faulty HF sensors are likely to trigger the local gas alarm. Please
treat any alarm as a real alarm and immediately vacate the labs. Please ensure everyone
working within the CELTIC facility leaves the lab and the 'do not enter' sign
is posted on the outer door.
Please then contact Edward or myself to check the gas detection system, reset it, and let
you know it is safe to re-enter.
Thank you for your understanding.
