Hi everyone,
Hope everyone is doing well and happy it's a Friday.
Following the power reset on Thursday, the airflow in the lab turned off. It should be
turned on but I will check the face velocity on Monday for each of the hoods first thing
in the morning (I'm currently on a conference so can't do it today).
Because the negative pressure switched off, the lab will need to be cleaned. Since this is
an off-schedule clean, I will not be contacting people one by one to ask them to clean,
there just isn't enough time to navigate every single person. Please, if you have
time on Monday morning - just come and clean. It won't take long if we get many
people, please just show up even if it's for 30 minutes and help clean.
Many thanks and have a good weekend,
Sofiya

Hi all,
Just to reiterate what Sofiya said. She will check the fume cabinets on monday morning and
send an email once done so to say they are safe to use. The lab will need to be cleaned as
it was under negative pressure during the AHU failure so please go to the lab on monday
morning to clean it with Sofiya. I am on leave on Monday but back on Tuesday.
Cheers,
Edward

Hi Everyone,
Estates contractors will need to access the South Central and S. West roof this Thursday,
27th June, for urgent repairs. This will put all the extracted hoods and instrument LEVs
in the Celtic Labs out of use all day on Thursday. Please ensure nothing is left on in the
laminar flow/fume hoods (all hotplates must be turned off) and all beakers/vials need to
be capped so that nothing is extracting.
Apologies for the short notice.

Hi All,
This morning we discovered the ultra clean lab had flooded. It seems that the DI water
extension tap was left on the always on position and the entire tank of DI water emptied
into the lab.
Please ensure the DI water is off in both clean labs before you leave, the DI unit in
-1.42A can be left on standby but should not be left on to process water.
Cheers,
Lindsey
