While the chemistry rooms remain out of action the use of the instrument rooms continues. As such cleaning of the lab (not the chemistry rooms) must continue. Please find the most up to date cleaning rota below (it is also on teams on the booking sheet). Please study this very carefully, paying particular note to the dates you have been rostered to clean. I suggest you add this to you calendars now. If you cannot make the dates you have been assigned then please arrange with one of your peers to swap. Also, the dycem mats require cleaning daily (at any time). Please take 5 mins if you are in the lab to clean them.

Following on from yesterdays incident we need to meet with all lab users/those involved with the labs next Tuesday 16th at 10am. This meeting is very important to inform people what occurred to trigger the major incident response that played out yesterday and what we can do to prevent this from ever happening again. Please be advised of a local shutdown of extraction to the lab on the morning of Tuesday 25th April between 8am-12pm. During this time no work in the fume cabinets should be undertaken. All samples on the hotplates must be capped.

If you can arrange for the fume cupboards not to be used on those mornings that affect your labs and let me know if this is okay.
