Dear colleagues,
in our research project at the University of Vienna
A new Geometry for Einstein’s Theory of Relativity and
beyond<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2…
at the intersection of Lorentzian geometry, General Relativity, Metric geometry and
Optimal Transport, a call for PhD-students and PostDocs is now open:
* up to five PhD
positions<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2…
* up to four PostDoc
positions<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2…
The project received major funding by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) in the framework of
its “Emerging Fields” program (see
https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fef-geomet…);reserved=0).
In particular, we are expecting to fill up to five Ph.D. positions, each for a duration of
three years, and up to four PostDoc positions, each for a duration of two years, with a
possible renewal for another year, all starting from fall 2024 (October or later). We are
looking for exceptional candidates with a strong background in at least one, preferably
several, of the following fields: Riemannian/Lorentzian geometry, functional analysis and
measure theory, optimal transport, metric geometry, calculus of variations, geometric
analysis, mathematical General Relativity.
We would appreciate if you could share the call in your group and research network.
Thank you & best wishes,
Michael Kunzinger, Raquel Perales, Chiara Rigoni, Clemens Sämann, Roland Steinbauer
