Updated link for MinSoc Skills and Training event

Dear Geochemists, Apologies, it appears that the sign up link in my original email didn’t work for everyone. A working link is now below. The next session in the Mineralogical Society ‘Skills and Training’ schedule will be 'Asbestos Regulations and Geological Materials' This is the third in this series of seminars and it will be held on 15th January 2025 @ 2-4 pm (UK time). The presentation will be by Dr John Faithfull, Hunterian Museum, University of Glasgow The question of regulation around asbestos and geological materials is increasingly being raised by health and safety professionals, and it is an issue for all who work with rocks or minerals in any form, but especially for those involved in breaking, cutting and crushing rock materials in industry, and in analytical and rock sectioning facilities, and in teaching in Universities. Mineralogical Society Skills and Training (15th January)

Mineralogical Society Skills and Training (Friday 6th)

Dear Geochemists This Friday (6th December 2024 @ 2-3 pm) in the Mineralogical Society ‘Skills and Training’ schedule is a seminar by Cees-Jan de Hoog and Cristina Talavera Rodriguez of University of Edinburgh who will speak about the instrumental basics of ion microprobe analysis, give a brief overview of its applications, and also describe various ways to access the facility.
