Hi all,
Estates need to kill the AHU now to fix the AC in the plant room. This means the supply of clean air to the lab will be stopped for roughly an hour. The extraction remains working so it is safe but dont do anything with open samples until I give the all clear. Should be by lunch.
Cheers,
Edward

Hi everyone,
Just to give everyone another heads up about the acid stock - there are no more bottles upstairs. Everything that was made is now downstairs, which is 1 bottle of HCL in the clean lab and 1 bottle of nitric in the ultra clean lab. I am currently making more but it will be ready by Monday/Tuesday.
I understand people need to complete their work but please keep in mind in the future when I say I won't be able to make acid for a week, plan a little after that one week ahead since it takes 4 full days to distil the acid. Hopefully no one will run out of acid for this week but please for the future just keep in mind how long the process takes. We don't want anyone to run out of acid when they really need it!
Thanks everyone!
Sofiya
PS - whoever took my crocs has made me very sad. Please don't take my crocs, they fit me perfectly.

Hi everyone,
Hope everyone is having a great sunny Wednesday!
The box of chemicals up in 3.01 is becoming a bit too much of an inconvenience for the users in that lab. We luckily have a fridge in the prep room that I will turn on and let it get cold this week so should be ready for things to be transferred next week.
There are a couple of things about this mini fridge though - it's a mini fridge, meaning not everything from upstairs will fit downstairs. It is also NOT a spark-free fridge. This means nothing that is flammable can go inside otherwise it's a fire hazard. Please keep that in mind, I know it's a bit inconvenient since most of the things we have are classed as flammable but this is just what we have to work with at the moment.
If you have anything upstairs, feel free to go in by yourself and sort through your things to see what is absolutely necessary to be downstairs and what can be either binned or kept in your storage somewhere else. If you need access to the room, drop me an email and we can arrange a time for me to let you in or go through the things together. Please try to arrange a time within the next week or so, this temporary storage slowly turned into semi-permanent on accident. Drop me an email for us to arrange a time!
Many thanks,
Sofiya

Hi all,
Your reminder that we will meet this morning at 11am in 1.58 main for our lab meeting.
As this will be my last dance at the helm it may feature some sweet treats.
See you later!
Edward
