Hi all,
Pretty much all of you need access to 1.20 to use things like the balances and centrifuge. You must contact Imane (copied in here) to arrange with her for an induction to this room before you can be given badge access. Note that an induction for 1.20 is mandatory for all users needing access to the high level clean room in 1.21.
Cheers,
Edward

Hi all,
There is some confusion about what we talked about yesterday regarding training records for the COSHH, fume cabnet and laser modules. If everybody can just hold fire on redoing any training for the moment, I will come back to you in a week or so with a full list of who needs to do what.
Cheers,
Edward

Hi all,
Marc seems to be banned from this mailing list so I’m going to pester you all about the Geochemistry Group Research in Progress meeting. Ive pasted Marcs email to you all below buts it’s really important we represent at these meetings. Please can we make an effort to attend en masse as a group. It’s an excellent opportunity to network and present your research in an informal setting.
Cheers,
Edward
Dear all,
Hope you are all doing well.
Just to let you know that the registration for the UK's foremost geochemistry meeting (GGRiP) have now opened. All kinds of geochemistry research and applications are welcome, not just geoscience.
It will take place in Durham this year from the 9th to the 11th of April. The CELTIC lab made quite a showing last year in Cambridge and we should try to do the same this year if at all possible. It's a great place for ECRs to present their work. It's really intended to be a place where people can present research that is in progress, not just finished and polished pieces of work.
So come and talk to your supervisors/us if you want to go. More details here: https://geochemistry.group/research-in-progress-meeting/<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgeochemis…>
Cheers

Hi all,
The electricians have run into an issue which means the power to the extraction that serves the fume cupboards has to be shut down. As such do not use the clean labs and multi-collector room until further notice.
The iCAPS, elements and triton remains useable.
Cheers,
Edward

Hi all,
Just to let you know that there will be some electrical work done today in the multi collector lab. The contractors are installing power outlets and cabling for the Neoma. We are still waiting to confirm with estates when the electrical shutdown will take place but as soon as I know I’ll keep you posted.
Cheers,
Edward

Hi all,
Because of an issue with the contractors we will need to move the shutdown days for the lab (TBC). As such the lab is open today.
Cheers,
Edward
