Hi Cardiff Innovations tenants,
Hope you have some lovely plans for the weekend ahead. Some important building updates
below and some great events to take part in.
📣BUILDING INFO📣
❌Tenants/building users not to use the Large Service Lift ❌(Next to the bike storage)
Tenants and other building users are not to use the large Service Lift, which is at the
back of the building near the bike storage. Building Support have advised this is for
their use only. Please do not ignore the signs that will be put up.
The passenger lifts at the front of the building are there for your use.
* NEED THE LARGE LIFTS? If you need to use the service lift to move large items,
please let us know so we can flag to the Building Support team asap and they can assist.
🖥 IT/AV Training 🖥 – SAVE THE DATE (rescheduled)
On the 21st March there will be AV training sessions for equipment within the building.
This will be a quick demo followed by a question and answer session. We encourage tenants
who host meetings or who have previously had difficulties with the AV to attend. The event
will be held in Room 1.34. Please use the following link to book a place
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/spark-av-demo-session-room-134-tickets-5698302…
and note places are limited to 20 tickets per session.
💧🥛 Water fountain 🥛💧
BUG Update: A water fountain on the ground floor by the microwaves has been installed.

In case you missed last week’s building updates…..
🚭No Smoking Policy 🚭
The building support team have flagged they have still been finding lots of cigarette
butts on the 4th floor balcony. This is a reminder that Cardiff University has a no
smoking policy. Smoking is not permitted on any University premises (internal and
external).
Building support have installed a bin on the boundary fence – please use this rather than
littering the floor.

🚷 Forgotten ID Cards 🚷
Due to the increase in security breaches, reception cannot issue replacement day passes
with access to the building and your room.
If you arrive onsite without your access card, you will not have building access and be
considered as a visitor. You will need to be signed in and out of the building by a member
of your team.
💬 Visitors 💬
In relation to the above security updates please ensure you understand the below fully in
regard to any non-building users.
Visitors are anyone who doesn’t have building access cards. This includes and members of
your business visiting who don’t have access.
* All visitors must be met at main reception and be signed in and out at reception by
the host.
* All Visitors must be accompanied throughout the building.
* All Visitors must wear their green visitor lanyards at all times.
* All Visitors found unaccompanied and/or not wearing lanyards will be challenged by
building staff and escorted down to the main reception.
If you are hosting a meeting with visitors, please ensure you read the above and relay the
expectations to your visitors so they understand our security protocol.
📞🗯Communal Space Etiquette 🗯📞
The common seating areas have been provided for everybody’s use. We ask that you use these
spaces respectfully and in consideration for others who may be working around you. We want
to make sure that all of our tenants feel comfortable using the communal areas and that
they are welcoming spaces for work and collaboration to help grow our community.
To ensure fair use of the communal space we encourage you to use the several non-bookable
informal meeting / breakout spaces throughout the building. There is a soundproof meeting
both on each floor in the building which are brilliant for taking calls and using for
online meetings – please make use of these. Alternatively, there are some nice booths
towards the one end of the 4th floor which are great for tucking yourself out of the way.
Have a wander across the floors – the space is there for you to use. Say ‘Hi’ and
introduce yourself at kitchenettes too 😊
